Last day in Paris! So sad. We took the RER and went to Versailles to check out the palace.I thought it would be a restful day to escape from the city. I was TOTALLY wrong. Throngs of tourists visited and we waited in line for 2.5 hours just to get our ticket. CRAZY.
Then we waited in another line for an hour to go through security. The French really know how to make things inefficient. Mari: "This is why France doesn't rule the world." Hear hear.
Inside the chapel.
One of many rooms for the King.
Hall of mirrors.
Getting through the rooms inside the palace was insane. People were taking pictures everywhere, and each room was packed with people. You really couldn't walk around and get a feel for the place. But the garden outside was so much better.
More topiary. This place was HUGE. I basically takes an hour to walk from one end to another.
The flowers were so pretty.
The clouds were ominous. I loved how the garden was free to the public. I would like to picnic there again. It was just endless amounts of greenery and fountains.
The marble courtyard.
Back around les Invalides where we had our last dinner in Europe. sadness.
Back to go to the top!
It was temporarily closed because it was raining...
But they opened it up! Yay for the French!
Really windy and cold up there.
We mainly stayed in the observation room the whole time.
Goodbye Paris. :(.
