Man, I'm hungry for some Chipotle. Nothing sounds better than gorging a brick. Seems all healthy, but it isn't. Now I'm not surprised that McDonald's owns Chipotle...

My favorite: Barbacoa burrito with with rice, black beans, tomato, corn and red tomatillo salsas, cheese, sour cream and guacamole. Let's assess the damage:

Yay for high in Vit. A and C, protein. But, look at that sodium. Daily sodium intake should be like 2000 mg.... I don't care. I want one.

Batman returns...

Batman has started filming in the city... I should study at the Starbuck's where they're filming near the location. Maybe I'll run into Heath Ledger or Christian Bale, or more realistically, their assistants...

Good news! If you fit these criteria (sorry short ladies), you may be able to meet them in person!

Joan Philo Casting (Fred Claus, Stranger Than Fiction) is gearing up to cast a Summer feature film — to include a bit of filming at the end of April. We are searching for paid stand-ins for the following:

Caucasian male (20’s – 40’s) blonde hair, 5’10” to 6’3”

Caucasian male (20’s – 40’s) brown hair 5’10” – 6’2”

Caucasian male (20’s – 50’s) brown hair 5’8” – 5’10”

Caucasian male (50’s-70’s) grey hair 6’0 – 6’2”

Caucasian Female (20’s – 30’s) brown hair 5’8” – 5’10”

Asian Male (20’s – 60’s) dark hair and/or clean shaven 5’5” – 6’3”

We need to find people that can free up their lives for about three months and work as stand-ins (non-speaking) for the main characters of this film. If you are flexible enough to take time off from your life and work on a film set please call our hotline number and leave us your name and phone number.

*We also need some extras (non-speaking roles) to work with their cars — (there is a car bump for the use of your car). If you are a good driver and have a car without any dents that is in good condition, we might be able to have you in a driving scene. We’d like to find some really good drivers that might work a lot through the summer. We are not allowed to cast white or red cars.

Contact or email

hmmm... asian male... This could work out.

PoP! Goes My Heart!

Does anybody wanna see Music and Lyrics with me??

I know I posted about this before, but I just have to ensist how GENIUS Ms. Björk is. With every album, she just progresses in a different direction nobody can predict. Her latest project teams up with producer-man-of-the-moment Timbaland, and the tribal-like beats are HOTT. It is the complete opposite of Vespertine/introspective/introvert/whispering. It reminds me of her Debut days with Human Behaviour... Cannot WAIT to hear the rest of Volta. Like all Björk songs, you have to give it a chance. It takes a couple spins for it to sink in. Watch: Blood of Yingzhou District

While watching the Oscar telecast couple months ago, I was really intrigued by one of the winners called Blood of Yingzhou District. I suggested it to Michelle for an event for Asian Health Awareness Week and the Chicago International Documentary Festival matched perfectly with one of the days. Watch:This 40 minute film truly was a heartbreaker. It was sad to see the discrimination the children and families faced, even though they weren't inflicted with HIV or AIDS. It was the suffering from the disease that was the problem, but the inequalities they faced with the stigma of AIDS. Plus it was refreshing to see AIDS without the filter of it being a "gay disease". But what bothered me was that these types of documentaries always provided awareness of the problem, but not much of a solution. Just wish there was something to do.It was a double feature, and we also saw Return to the Border which was a fascinating account of the Yalu River, which divides China from North Korea. Who knew that just less than a decade before, the two countries were civil to each other, trading goods across the river. After China became allies with South Korea, the two countries divided by the river were suddenly enemies. It was just fascinating to get a glimpse of the life in North Korea. A lot of the shots of North Korea taken across or in the river with the lens zoomed into the action. The most memorable images were of the two people conducting trade across the river throwing goods to their respective sides. Another was of South Korean tourists giving gifts and other goods secretly to North Korean soldiers. No politics involved. They treated each other as if they were from the same country, and departed by saying "See you again at reunification..." I don't know how he took his camera into N. Korea and shot pictures of the marketplace, where free trade was happening (something N. Korea definitely would not want people to see...) I was so engrossed with this movie. Korea has such a sad history.

Listen to: Earth Intruders

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Björk is coming to Chicago! I am so excited and I think I got pretty seats for the show in May 12 at the Auditorium Theatre. Here is a 15 preview of her new single, "Earth Intruders", she worked on with Timbaland. Now don't be hatin' thinking she's jumped on the Timbaland train. She made this BEFORE all the Nelly Furtado/Justin Timberlake madness... Hope she becomes more popular after this!!
